The popular Petrin Observation Tower in Prague lights up in the UAE’s national colors as the Czech Republic honors the UAE’s 50th National Day on December 2.

Dubai: The popular Petrin Observation Tower, located on a hill in central Prague, lit up in the UAE’s national colors, as the Czech Republic paid homage to the UAE’s 50th National Day.
With the support of the Prague Hall City Hall, the gesture was an initiative of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Abu Dhabi. From December 2 at 4:25 p.m. PT until December 3 at 7:30 a.m., Prague residents had the opportunity to view the unusually illuminated Petrín Observation Tower. Built in 1891, the Petrín Observation Tower, a 63.5-meter-high steel-framed tower, resembles the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It is a major tourist attraction in Prague.
Important partners
The Czech Republic is an important partner of the United Arab Emirates among the member states of the European Union. “The two countries have very good political, economic and cultural relations and mutual trade is developing. For the Czech Republic, the United Arab Emirates are the second trading partner of the Middle East and the MENA region after Israel, ”noted the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
“The Czech Republic congratulates the United Arab Emirates on their Golden Jubilee and wishes much more success in achieving their ambitious goals in the future. The Czech Republic reciprocally responds to the helpful move of the UAE which, at the request of the Embassy of the Czech Republic on the occasion of the Czech Republic’s National Day on October 28, 2019, lit the towering skyscraper of the Emirati oil company ADNOC in Abu Dhabi; and on October 28, 2020, the tallest monument in the world, Burj Khalifa, was illuminated in Czech national colors.
Popular tourist destinations
The Embassy of the Czech Republic also noted: “The United Arab Emirates has been one of the most popular tourist destinations for citizens of the Czech Republic in recent years, not only because of the high level of services offered, but also because of the way the Emirates have coped with the COVID-19 pandemic. “
Conversely, the Czech Republic is a popular destination for UAE residents due to its historical monuments and spas, which are among the most famous in Europe. Young people also go to the Czech Republic for fun or study.
Czech pavilion at Expo 2020
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic was among the first countries to confirm participation in Expo 2020 Dubai. The Czech National Pavilion will hold its national holiday called “Czech Spring” on March 21, 2022, which will be attended by a high-level delegation from the Czech Republic.
