Pupil detained for machete killing of teacher at Prague school

PRAGUE (AP) — Police in the Czech capital have arrested a student for the machete killing of a teacher at a vocational school in Prague, officials said Thursday.

The suspect, a student at the school, was arrested after a manhunt involving hundreds of officers, police said.

Education Minister Petr Gazdik said the incident was likely the result of a dispute between the teacher and the student. He gave no further details.

“It’s something that shouldn’t have happened,” Gazdik said.
