Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways will add Prague and Vienna to its network

Kuwait LCC Jazeera Airways is expanding the list of European destinations on its route list with the launch of two new routes in its summer season schedule.

The carrier plans to start service from Kuwait City (KWI) to Vienna (VIE) from June 2, while its initial flight to Prague (PRG) will take place on June 5, the airline said in a statement on June 20. april. The two European capitals will be served twice a week.

The airline previously announced plans to fly to London Heathrow (LHR) from June.

Like most airlines, Jazeera has reported a strong return to traffic since the start of this year with the gradual easing of travel restrictions and expects this expansion to continue over the coming months.

“The demand for unique tourist destinations is very high after two years of travel restrictions,” said Jazeera CEO Rohit Ramachandran. Kuwait had some of the strictest travel regulations in the Middle East, with KWI effectively closed for several months except for cargo and humanitarian flights.

The small, oil-rich emirate has an affluent population with a propensity for overseas travel. Kuwaitis like to escape the country’s scorching summer temperatures to cooler cities, like those in Europe.
